Amit Chandra is the Co-founder of A.T.E. Chandra Foundation and the Managing Director of Bain Capital, India. He has been a trustee of the Tata Trusts, a founder/board member of Ashoka University, and a board member of Give India and The Akanksha Foundation. Amit is also a member of the advisory boards of Bridgespan India, the Centre for Social Impact & Philanthropy, and Swades Foundation. The A.T.E. Chandra Foundation focuses on sustainable rural development, urban governance, capacity building, and grantmaking. Amit is a proponent of “Giving while Living” and is inspired by American philanthropist Chuck Feeney, who gave away most of his wealth. Amit and his foundation have set ambitious targets to give away upwards of 75% of their annual income.
